Description
So you lowered you’re Ram truck using springs only in the rear, and realized you have some wicked high speed sway, or that you now bottom out on every bump, or can’t tow anything because the slightest squat in the rear end means your truck is banging the axle into the frame, or worse, totally bottomed out. Don’t worry, there IS a solution!
Yes, you CAN have a factory feeling ride quality, still be able to tow safely, and keep your rear suspension geometry in spec to eliminate high speed sway. The answer is installing a set of Inez Hotrods 4 Link Relocation Brackets. This restores the 4 Link geometry relative to the chassis, meaning the stability is unaffected by using lowering springs. It essentially raises the centerline of the axle housing by moving the 4 link’s physical mounting positions down, so that the links stay level to the chassis, while the axle moves up toward the frame, effectively lowering the vehicle ride height.
The extra space for axle travel is achieved by removing the stock upper mounting brackets from the axle tube itself, as they are no longer needed. This means you can go as low as 7″ drop in the rear and still have near factory clearance between the chassis and the axle! Lowering springs are used to achieve the ride height, and do not hold the same weight that stock springs do when towing, so it is highly recommended to use AirLift helper bags to allow you to tow the manufacturer’s rated weight while maintaining a level stance, which greatly improves towing stability. These bags are great for stock height trucks as well when towing!
Our Relocation Installation Service will include the following steps:
- Removal of rear axle from the truck.
- Cut off upper control arm mounts from axle tube.
- Flush Grind all old remnants of the original control arm mounts.
- Install Inez Hotrods Relocation Brackets using their supplied hardware.
- Weld brackets in place to prevent them from shifting or moving, adding a layer of protection and strength.
- Clean off, prep, and repaint the rear axle chassis black. (can paint a custom color for additional fee, contact us for pricing)
- Install custom parking brake cable bracket to keep passenger side brake cable secured.
- Reinstall the rear axle.
- Can install Core-4X4 or Spohn arms at same time for no extra labor. (parts must be available and ready when axle is reinstalled, if installed at a later date, the normal labor rates will apply)
- Check fitment and test drive, and make any adjustments necessary. (Kit is designed to install with no alignment needed. If you want to do an alignment after the installation, it will be a separate charge)
- This does not include the brackets, this is the installation service charge only. Please add the relocation bracket from our store that matches your model year range when purchasing the Installation Service if you do not already have your Inez brackets in hand.
We believe making the installation clean and factory appearing is important. A clean installation will almost hide itself, sloppy work stands out like a sore thumb. And, when everything is clean and all a uniform surface and color, any problems that may arrive in the future are easy to spot early on, before it becomes a major issue, as it makes routine inspection easy. It’s how we do it at HomeBrew Customs!
